What’s For Lunch?

What is your typical routine for lunch? Join a couple of colleagues for a quick bite? Eat a sandwich at your desk? Head down to the company cafeteria? Grab a snack and power through the lunch hour focused on the task at hand?

Try this today …. Schedule a “LEARNING LUNCH” for yourself.

Identify a KNOWLEDGE AREA you’d like to strengthen and “get current” on or something NEW you’d like to learn about — perhaps something relevant to a project you’re about to embark on or an opportunity you’re chasing. Assemble relevant reading material — a book, manual, journal articles, or material you can upload on your iPad, Kindle or other tablet device. Then….

  1. Find a quiet place nearby, outside the office; a place where running into other work colleagues is less likely

  2. Set a goal for what you want to accomplish during your learning lunch time

  3. Immerse yourself in the material; soak it up

Lunch time offers an excellent opportunity to dedicate yourself to learning something NEW. Schedule a once-a-week learning lunch session; make it a routine and habit. Try it today. Best to you!
