What is your typical routine for lunch? Join a couple of colleagues for a quick bite? Eat a sandwich at your desk? Head down to the company cafeteria? Grab a snack and power through the lunch hour focused on the task at hand?

Try this today …. Schedule a “LEARNING LUNCH” for yourself.
Identify a KNOWLEDGE AREA you’d like to strengthen and “get current” on or something NEW you’d like to learn about — perhaps something relevant to a project you’re about to embark on or an opportunity you’re chasing. Assemble relevant reading material — a book, manual, journal articles, or material you can upload on your iPad, Kindle, or another tablet device. Then….
Find a quiet place nearby, outside the office; a place where running into other work colleagues is less likely
Set a goal for what you want to accomplish during your learning lunchtime
Immerse yourself in the material; soak it up
Lunchtime offers an excellent opportunity to dedicate yourself to learning something NEW. Schedule a once-a-week learning lunch session; make it a routine and habit. Try it today.
Have a great and productive week!
