Leaders: Get Out of Your Office!

Updated: Jul 13, 2020

Great leaders understand the importance of “walking the halls” of their company — getting out and being visible. Sometimes just a couple of minutes spent with someone “on the line” or “in the trenches” can make their day. Show interest, ask for their feedback, look for opportunities to GIVE feedback, or simply say hello.

TRY THIS TODAY:  Find a time today to leave your office and walk around amongst your team and staff.

  1. Drop by a couple of offices

  2. Stick your head into a couple of cubicles

  3. Share some kind words

  4. Ask some upbeat questions

  5. Give some positive feedback

  6. Be visible, demonstrate your approachability

  7. Be friendly, smile, enjoy the time with your people

NEXT STEP:  Do this often — several times a week … or daily. Visit different departments on different days. Stay on the lookout for ways to add value and recognize positive behavior. Demonstrate your capacity as a servant leader.

Have a great day!
